Job Introduction

ROLE OF THE JOB 

 

Please note: Successful applicants must be available for interview week commencing 26th June. These posts will commence in September 2024. 

 

What the candidate will be doing on a day-to-day basis 

Monitoring the teams shared mailboxes and acting as the single point of contact for external agencies including DWP.  Liaising with numerous investigators from partner agencies. 

Responding to requests for information from internal and external partners, in line with DPA and data sharing agreements.  Searching internal systems for the required information and being able to efficiently communicate the information back. 

Receiving internal and external reports of fraud, assessing the fraud type, tracing the individuals and addresses.   

Setting up fraud investigations to pass to investigators.  Preliminary enquiries to enable investigators to make early assessments. 

Providing admin support to investigators and managers including incoming and outgoing poststracing, scanning, obtaining credit reports.  Online filing, retention and destruction. 

 

Background on department 

The Corporate Fraud Team is part of the Internal Audit and Risk service.  There are currently 3 investigators, 1 review officer and a manager.

REQUIREMENTS OF THE JOB 

 

Maths and English GCSE (or Equivalent) at Grade 4/C or above
